Assassin’s Creed

I give this movie 2 Icees out of 5. This movie has been killed by the critics and I can certainly see why.  The only reason that this movie even got as high of a rating as it did was because of the well choreographed fight scenes and the cinematography when he is in the Animus.  Otherwise, this movie is not very good.

The plot is pretty straight forward without any twists. The fight scenes, especially early on have no sense of real danger to them as you know his former self (sorta) has to get out of it in order to do the thing that I can’t tell you about because then it would be a spoiler.

The script made little use of the talented actors that were in this movie.  To me, this is yet another failure of an attempt to transition a video game into a movie.  They did leave it open for a sequel, but I sincerely doubt we’ll be seeing one, unless this movie just explodes overseas or something.

There is no scene after the credits.

Assassins Creed Trailer #2

This trailer explains a little more than the first, which is good for me since I know nothing about the video game that it is based on.  Perhaps this can be a movie based on a video game that actually succeeds?  Other than Tomb Raider, I don’t know if any have.  It comes out the week after Rogue One, so perhaps it has a fighting chance (pun intended).

Assassin’s Creed Trailer #2 + BTS

This trailer is one of those “behind the scenes” trailers. When I like about this is that it kind of sets up the movie and that’s good for me because I never played the video games. Speaking of which, this movie follows a long line of movies based on video games. Most have not been successful at all. In fact, the only one that I can think of that was successful was Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Anyway, this comes out on December 21st.  Check it out below.

Assassin’s Creed Trailer

Today’s trailer is for a movie based on a video game. Those types of movies have been hit or miss (with more misses than hits). It doesn’t come out until Dec 21st, but they’ve already released a trailer. Take a look and let me know what you think.  Also, what is your favorite movie-from-a-game film to date? For me, it’s Lara Croft: Tomb Raider.
