Lego Batman Movie, The

This kids movie gets a solid 4 Icees (out of 5).  Is it as funny/original as the original (Lego Movie)?  No, but it does a darn fine job of being a sequel. It has humor, both for kids and adults. Of course, since it is a kids’ movie, it also has to have a “message”.  This has that too.

I personally enjoyed the first half of the movie more than the second. To me the jokes were funnier and as the movie goes on the “message” gets a bit overwhelming. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still pretty funny, but just a bit overdone on the sappy.  The focus is on Batman (of course), but more so on his lonely side, missing family and also his desire to be a one-bat show. This is of course shattered with the adoption of Richard “Dick” Grayson, aka Robin and the retirement of Commissioner Gordon, who is replaced by Commissioner Gordon. You’ll see what I mean when you see it.

The thing I liked about this is that not only was it funny for the kids, but they did a good job of throwing in jokes that were directly aimed at the adults, including references to the original Batman series, Adam West style. That helps to make this a movie that everyone can enjoy.

There is something during the credits but nothing thereafter.  Enjoy… I know I did.

Lego Batman Trailer #4

Wow, this movie has had a lot of trailers, especially considering this movie doesn’t come out until Feb 10th!  I really hope it is as good as it looks, in the same vein as The Lego Movie.  Hopefully the Joker’s scenes aren’t cut out like they were from Suicide Squad (yes, I’m still bitter about that). Check out the latest trailer and let me know if this is something you plan to see!

Lego Batman Trailer From Comic-Con

Another of the great trailers from Comic-Con is the latest for Lego Batman. It doesn’t come out until Feb 10th, but it looks like another Lego hit!
